Bhamla Foundation Honours Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood, Raghav Juyal, Badshah, Malaika Arora, Anurag Thakur, Rupali Ganguly & Others With the Green Crusader Commendation at their World Environment Day Celebration

There are awards that celebrate achievement. And then there are awards that celebrate conscience. And the Bhamla Foundation, on June 5, 2026, did the latter in a grand celebration at the Amphi Theatre on Carter Road in Bandra, as they brought together some of the most committed voices for environmental change under one roof to mark World Environment Day. In partnership with the UN Environment Programme, the BMC, Godrej and Godrej Industries, and under the global theme of ‘#NowForClimate’ and ‘#BhoomiNamaskar3, the foundation presented its Green Crusader Award to actor and performer Raghav Juyal, in recognition of his genuine, sustained commitment to the planet and the cause of climate action.

The foundation’s Green Crusader recognition is as meaningful as it is deserved. And it has been a dedicated recognition to honour, celebrate and thank talented performers in the entertainment industry who have used their fame and their platform to promote a cause that is larger than themselves. These celebrities’ advocacy for environmental awareness, their voice on climate issues and their ability to connect with audiences of all ages and across all platforms made them precisely the kind of champions the movement needs.

Present for the evening of festivities were Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood, Mayor Ritu Tawde, Raghav Juyal, Malaika Arora, Vishal Jethwa, Shankar Mahadevan, Gaur Gopal Das, Donal Bisht, Rupali Ganguly, Jannat Zubair, Vedang Raina and other prominent industry personalities, who brought their own distinct voices and their own communities to a cause that the Bhamla Foundation has always understood requires collective, sustained action rather than seasonal symbolism.

The Green Crusader Awards are the latest expression of a mission that Asif Bhamla and Saher Bhamla have built their foundation upon, one initiative at a time, one cause at a time, without ever losing the thread. From beach clean-up drives along Mumbai’s coastline to the ‘EkPedMaaKeNaam’ tree plantation campaign, from the ‘Supergirls of Tomorrow’ scholarship programme for girl child education to the Pink E-Rickshaw Support Initiative empowering 1,000 women, the Bhamla Foundation has never waited for the right moment to act. It has always been the driving force behind creating and spearheading these moments. And in honouring the Green Crusaders who share that spirit, Bhamla Foundation is once again reminding the world that real change begins with the people who refuse to look away.
