Squad Boss Agsy, the OG Mommy of Hip-Hop, met Mumbai’s beloved local-train performer Pooja Sharma aka Rekha, bringing together two artists who found their own stages in the most unexpected places.
Agsy’s hip-hop journey began in Delhi, with the metro being part of her early years as she found her voice and identity as an artist. Pooja Sharma, meanwhile, has made Mumbai’s local trains her stage, performing for commuters and turning everyday journeys into moments of entertainment.
Their meeting inside the Hustle 5 Hustle Express Metro brought these two journeys full circle – from Delhi’s metro to Mumbai’s moving hip-hop homeground.The crossover offers audiences a fresh glimpse of Agsy beyond the Hustle stage, while bringing together two women who have carved their own identities in the city in entirely different worlds. With the Hustle Express as the unexpected setting, the collaboration creates a fun, culturally rooted and entertaining exchange between two powerful personalities.
The interaction also opened up a conversation around Pooja’s journey as a transgender woman, while celebrating her primarily for who she is – a performer and artist who has created her own space through talent and perseverance. From Pooja teaching Agsy some of her signature dance steps to the two sharing laughs, trying out moves and talking about their journeys, alongside Agsy’s ambition to take Indian hip-hop to a global audience, the moment became a meeting of two artists who have never needed a conventional stage to make people stop and take notice.
Talking about this exciting collaboration, Agsy shared, _“There’s something really powerful about meeting another woman who has created her own space without waiting for someone to give it to her. Pooja has made the local train her stage, and I’ve found mine through hip-hop. Our journeys are completely different, but the hustle is very similar: showing up, being yourself and making people stop and listen. I loved sharing this moment with her. We danced, laughed, and exchanged stories, and it reminded me of the beauty of music and performance: you can connect with someone even when your worlds are completely different. Meeting her on the Hustle Express felt extra special because the metro has been such an important part of my own journey.”_
